Supplies needed for math:
Pencils (all math work needs to be done in pencil)

Graph Paper Notebook (Composition or other type of bound notebook) 1/4 inch grid is preferred

Scientific Calculator (Any brand/model is fine, however, TI-30XIIS is the model we will be using in class)

Math 7 (periods 3 & 5)

We will be assessing on probability on Wednesday, May 16th. We will then be moving into our last unit, Moving Straight Ahead. This unit will cover concepts of algebra (slope, y-intercept, equations, graphs, & tables).

Honors Math 7 (periods 1, 2, & 4)

We will be assessing on Data Displays, specifically Box & Whisker Plots, on Thursday, May 17th (per. 1) and Friday, May 18th (per 2 & 4). Topics that we will cover during the remainder of May & June are: Venn Diagrams, solving/graphing inequalities, linear relationships, exponent rules, and Scientific Notation.

Assessments determine 100% of a student's grade
Assessments are scored as follows:
Level 4 (exceeding standard)= 9.5 - 10 pts in gradebook
Level 3 (meeting standard)= 8 - 9 pts in gradebook
Level 2 (not quite meeting standard) = 6.5 - 7.5 pts in gradebook
Level 1(significantly below standard) = 5 - 6 pts in gradebook
No evidence (shows no understanding) = 4 pts in gradebook

Homework is scored as follows:
Students earn a homework score based on whether the assignment is completed (or not) with appropriate work shown. It is based on a 5 point scale; 5/5 simply means the assignment was finished with work shown. It does not mean that all problems were correct. They could have gotten problems incorrect and still earned 5/5 for completing the assignment. A 4/5 may mean that it was not completely finished and/or required work was not shown. A score lower than this indicates that the assignment was partially finished. A 0/5 means that the student did not complete any part of the assignment. Students can resubmit assignments once they are completed to improve their score. Although homework scores do not impact a student's grade in this class, homework is an important component to this class. Homework gives students the necessary practice on concepts covered during classtime. Students are expected to regularly complete homework assignments - often class time is given for students to get started on their assignment.
