Reading/Writing- for
April, we will continue to read stories about courage in Open
Court. We also will be listening to stories read to us by Mrs.
Mickley. These read alouds are from a series called Making Meaning.
Comprehension strategies are worked on in these exciting stories.
For each story, we do a 5-7 sentence paragraph on a topic related
to the stories. We now are writing great opening sentences, three
or more details about the topic, and a closing sentence.
Science- We will continue to do small group
activities with "Mr. Science" in the Balancing and Weighing
unit. Balancing a paper butterfly on a pencil and weighing
different objects on the balance scale have been lots of fun so
far. Soon we will be learning about a fulcrum.
Math- We will be starting Unit 6, which is all
about rolling marbles and looking at the many variables that can
affect speed and distance.
