Hayden,
Sounds like you've had a great summer! Where abouts did you ride on your canoe? And what are you planning to do in California? My husband grew up there for part of his childhood, so we have a fondness for the Sunshine State. :)
Tell me a little more about yourself since we've never met face to face...but I'm looking forward to it in September!

Hi Mrs. Gagnon,

I can't wait for school to start! A couple fun activities I've done this summer is go to Wild Waves for the first time with my friend Rhiannon, and went to Kandle Pool in Tacoma with my friend Kat.

We planted a garden and it is growing very well. Do you want some cucumbers or yellow squash? It is coming out our ears!

My family is going to Victoria, B.C. next weekend for the first time, and also camping with my Grandma and Papa.

Some good books I've read are the Little House series (a few times) the Ramona Quimby series, American Girl Kit Kittridge series, and a few Little House related books like Laura's diary of their trip to Missouri.

Sincerely,
Emily Hancock

 Hi Emily!
Sounds like you've had a busy summer! Victoria, B.C. is a really neat place; if you have time you should check out the wax museum!
I read some of those same books when I was younger! I loved the Ramona series and my favorite American Girl was Kirsten (I used to want to be a pioneer :) ). These days I tend to read a lot of non fiction and parenting books for my little one, Harper.
Yes, I would be delighted to have some squash...thank you! I'd love to grill up some veggies on the BBQ!
Thanks so much for the message, Emily. I can't wait to meet you!
Love, Mrs. Gagnon

My family and I just got back from a camping trip.We went to my friends[Sarah and Claire]
cabin...it was as big as a full-sized house!!!It was more like a Motel than a camp site,
there were many other cabins by it and there was an outdoor swimming pool with heated
water.Everybody had a great time.(Other than my brother, he stepped on a bee's nest
for the first time). Did you go camping this summer?

Today is the first time my mom and I have looked at this website. We didn't know about keeping a reading log. I did read a lot this summer, is that OK if I just write down the titles of the books I remember reading?

Excited to start school!

Hi Mrs. Gagnon,
I can't wait to get back to school in your class, but the summer was really fun too. We went camping to the beach and learned a new way to make sand castles. And now I'm playing soccer and I'm one of the best kids on the team.

Sincerely,
Jonathan

 Hi Meaghan!
What an AWESOME video! I remember reading about the rover in our TFK magazine! This would be a neat video to show the class at lunchtime....what do you think?
Looking forward to seeing you in a week!

 Hi Maren!
Welcome to my class! Yes, it's just fine to write down the books you read this summer! Just make sure you use the Summer log. Starting in September you will get a new log and will need to keep track of the estimated minutes you read. :) Dont forget to bring in the Summer RAH Log next week and to take AR tests on the books you read!
Sounds like you had quite the luxury camping experience! Where was the cabin? Yes, my husband and I did go camping this summer...we went to Lincoln Rock in Wenatchee! It was exciting because it was our daughter's first camping trip!
I'm looking quite forward to meeting you in a week!

 Hi Jonathan!
I don't doubt that you are the best on your soccer team!! :)
I am very intrigued by this new sandcastle-building technology! You'll definitely need to enlighten me on these tricks when we come back to school!

Hi Mrs.G!
I've been having a really fun summer! I went to a theater in Sumner and did Guys and Dolls JR. I also went to art camp and learned a bunch of new techniques. Last Sunday , I went to a barbecue with some friends, we went to the beach, Woodland Park Zoo (and got to see the warthogs that are new) went to a Sounders game, and started playing soccer again with my dad coaching. Today we went to the American Girl store, I got my dolls ears pierced, and also got her a new outfit. Tomorrow I might even pass my piano songs and move on to a new level. I'm glad that I'm coming back to your class with some new kids to have fun learning with.
Love,
Alice. :-)

Hi Mrs. Gagnon!

I miss you, and everyone at Northwood. However, the summer is FLYING by. I was in a horse show (my first one!), and I got a flute. Mr. Burch said sure I could play it, so here I am. Luv yu!

Hi Sara!
How exciting...a new puppy! What kind of puppy is he/she and what is his/her name?
I will miss you, too, but I know you will have a great time in Mrs. Lee's class!
No, I am not doing Leadership this year. This year I need to take some time to focus on Harper. :) She's getting so big!
