Social Studies

  • Columbia Kids: Washington State Magazine for Kids - This magazine is put out by the Washington State History Museum and is specifically for kids. Check it out before we go on our field trip! :)
  • Time For Kids - Visit Time for Kids and discover all the amazing things you can do! Keep up on current events, go on a virtual adventure and visit different countries! You can even print out a passport and get stamps for every country you visit!!

  • Games for 2nd and 3rd Graders - This website has many games covering many subjects, including a typing game that you can make very challenging!
  • Grade Level Skills Help - This website has some fun games which practice second and third grade skills in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Click on your grade level and find your favorite activity!
  • K-12 Interactive Websites - This website has some wonderful, and plentiful, links to games and activities! In the reading section there is even a link to a website where actors read stories aloud! You will need to download Java for some of the websites!
  • My Pyramid for Schools - Recently the United States Department of Agriculture changed the food pyramid! This is a great website for kids and adults alike. This link is to the section for kids where they can play games, etc. There is also a section for everyone where you can enter your info and find out how many servings of each food group you should get each day. You can also keep track of what you eat, as well as any exercising you do.
  • Using Math Manipulatives - This is a great website with tons of activities! It makes you think out of the box, the kids find it challenging and fun!
