Welcome
to Mrs. Evjen's Music web page!
My name is Paula Evjen, one of

Goals:
|
My main goal is to
bring a love of music to each student through dance, movement,
creating, reading, writing, responding, and performing. In
order to do this, I make use of ribbon streamers, bean bags,
instruments, dance bags, stories and various other exciting
tools. |

Chorus:
|
In the fall, the
intermediate students (grades 4-6) have the opportunity to
sing in a performing chorus, the Stewart Chorus,
and in the Winter (in February),
grade 3 is invited to sing in the chorus. Chorus
is for those children who love to sing and wish to enhance the
singing that we do during our class time. This also gives them a
chance to go out and perform in the community. (click on the
Events tab above for dates of
performances.)
5th and 6th grade chorus members are invited to audition for
membership in the Puyallup School District Honor Chorus in January,
but it is not required. They perform together with
the Honor Band and Honor Orchestra, a culminating program, the
third Monday in the month of May. (Membership in the Stewart chorus is
required, as set forth by the guidelines of the district music
directors, during this time.) |

School
Programs:
|
During the
school year, we put on four music
programs, kindergarten,
1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. They are usually based around
the learnings that
each grade level experiences that year. (Click on Events tab above
for dates of the performances.) |
